There are two variants of the Blackjack game, the American and the European. The table, the objective of the game, and the best of both modalities are practically the same. In this guide, the European Blackjack is used to explain how to play Blackjack, introducing the essential aspects to start playing, the European modality has is chosen because it is the one represented in the casinos of Europe and especially in the casinos of Spain.

The Appearance of the Game Table

A blackjack table has a semicircular shape. There is space for up to 7 players in front of the players the dealer plays his role.

The Objective of the Game

In Blackjack, each player plays against the bench. The competition aims to get 21 points or at least get without passing a value closer to 21 than the dealer. The benefits of the cards in the Blackjack are the following: the cards from 2 to 10 are worth their cost. The figures are worth 10, and the AS is worth 1 or 11 depending on what suits the player.

The maximum play of the game is “Blackjack,” a player will have “Blackjack” when his two initial cards add up to 21, that is, they are an AS and a card with a value of 10 (10 or any figure). The sum of 21 with more than two cards is not “Blackjack.”

Basic Rules and Game Bets

At the start of the game, each player must place their initial bet, after all the players have placed their bets, the dealer will say “no more” to close the betting round and start with the distribution of cards. The dealer will deal two cards discovered to each player and one to himself, also found. After the card deal, the dealer will give way to the player to the left to play his hand, after this player plays his hand, the dealer will provide the idea to the next player and so on until it is finally the dealer who play your hand.

Players who stay further than 21 than the dealer or have passed lose their bets. Players who tie with the dealer do not win or lose, and they recover their chance. Winning bets with the Blackjack play are regularly 3 x 2 (which is the same as saying 1.5 x 1), all other winning bets, players that have stayed closer to 21 than the dealer, will be paid 1 x 1.

Each player only has one turn to play his hand; in his corner, he can:

  • Ask for a Card: a player may wish the cards while his hand is below 21 points. If upon request, the player passes 21, the dealer will withdraw the cards and collect their bets.
  • Plant: a player can be planted at any time.
  • Double: a player can double his bet. You can only increase the chance at the beginning of the turn, after receiving the first cards. To double the lottery, you must place another bet of the same value as the initial bet. When a player increases his chance, he will only receive one more card. In some casinos, it can double increase with any score. However, some casinos only allow growing when the first hand adds 9, 10, or 11.
  • Separate: when the two first cards have the same value (a ten and a figure can be separated, they are cards with the same value), the hand can split into two independent hands. For this, the player must place a bet equal to the initial one; in this way, each side will have its chance. The player will play each hand independently. If, after separating a hand, the score of 21 with two cards is not considered Blackjack, in the separated hands, BlackJack can never be obtained.

When two Aces are separated, only one card will be dealt with each separate hand.

Insurance Betting – The Dealer’s Bare Card is an AS

If the dealer’s uncovered card is an AS, the dealer immediately after dealing cards, before giving way to players playing their hand, will offer players the possibility of placing insurance bets. With the insurance bet a player insures against a possible Blackjack of the dealer, for this, the insurance bet must get achieved by putting at most half of the initial bet on the insurance line of the Blackjack table. If the dealer receives Blackjack, he will pay each player who made the insurance bet twice (the payment of the insurance bet is at the rate of 2 x 1) of what I bet on the insurance line. If the dealer does not get Blackjack, collect all insurance bets.

In American Blackjack, the dealer initially deals with two cards, one uncovered and one covered. The dealer’s revealed card affects how the game is executed.
